Things have quitened down a bit on the wildfowl front recently at Castle Water with only Teal present in good numbers, two Bitterns continue to give close views yesterday one was out infront of the hide while another was out in the open at the southern end of the main pit. This morning 11 Ruff were amongst 300 Lapwing feeding in the fields at the nortern end of the main pit. From the viewpoint Barn Owl and Bearded Tit have shown well in the late afternoon. On the Beach Reserve 60+ Knot, 15 Grey Plover, 90 Oystercatcher and 100 Dunlin have roosted on Flat Beach at high water and a Merlin has been frequent around the Beach Reserve and Harbour Farm.
