Collared pratincole at RSPB Dungeness

A collared pratincole was reported from Christmas Dell at 11.30 this morning. It disappeared for a time but is now happily hawking over New Excavations. This is only the second confirmed record of this species on the reserve. Yesterday’s highlight was a cracking male red-backed shrike near the pine tress on the ARC site. Sadly no sign today.
