Sitting on the Fence
A week ago today Sam reported seeing the attractive spring hoverfly Cheilosia grossa, but was unable to photograph it due to the warm weather. Today, under very much colder conditions, I was lucky enough to come across a torpid individual of the same species while checking the fence line, allowing plenty of opportunity for taking photos!
