Rye Harbour
3rd March 2011, ThursdayHighlights over the past few days have included 250 Curlew roosting on Harbour Farm, at Ternery Pool 8 Avocet, Spotted Redshank and at least 25 Mediterranean Gulls. Knot numbers have crept up to 85 feeding along the shore. At Castle Water 32 Little Egret have roosted at the traditional site out from the viewpoint (instead of main pit), 4 Marsh Harrier, Barn Owl, 4 Bearded Tit, Firecrest and a Bittern have also given great views from there. A small group of around 30 Fieldfare are still roosting around the main pit, these sometimes appear around Harbour Farm/Narrow Pit.
