RSPB Dungeness recent highlights
Egyptian goose – three on Denge Marsh on 11th. Goldeneye – up to ten on the ARC pit or Burrowes pit, daily. Smew – seven females on Burrowes pit on 15th. Goosander – five on the ARC site on 14th, at least five on Burrowes pit today. Black-necked grebe – two on Denge Marsh and one on Burrowes pit near Scott hide on 14th. Bittern – two showing well from the Visitor Centre and at least one at Hooker’s pits today. Merlin – one flew over on 11th. Snipe – several around the site all week. Firecrest – one near the Hanson-ARC car park on 13th. Chiffchaff – one at the ARC Willow trail on 13th.
