Rye Harbour Sightings
Highlights at Castle Water this morning included 100+ Meadow Pipit, a Yellow Wagtail and a Wheatear foraging on grassland near the hide, with Chiffchaff and Blackcap in the nearby scrub, and two further Wheatear to the north of the pit. In addition, a female Mandarin was on the river at Brede Lock. Yesterdays highlights were 60 Oystercatcher, 59 Dunlin, 33 Ringed Plover, seven Grey Plover, seven Knot and three Bar-tailed Godwit roosting on the shore near the old lifeboat house at high tide, and a Merlin on Harbour Farm.
