16th August 2010, Monday

Sunday 15th August 2010. The morning began with a walk along R.M.C. foot path to the hide, because the tide was low again, for the second week in a row. The waders on the flood were still in good supply with 15 Green Sands,1 Wood Sand,1 Common Sand, 3 L.R.Plover (imms) with the Lapwings slowly building upto around 150 as the morning went on, also 4 Greenshanks, 2 Redshanks and 3 Snipe, 1 Ruff. The morning was again good for birds of prey with the Barn Owl putting in its early morning hunting trip, with a Hobby putting in a brief hunting passage over the flood, eating on the wing, another falcon which spent most of the morning hunting or perched on one of the many post was a female Kestrel, but the best sighting of morning was 4 Buzzards which spent all morning either in the trees or on the ground or flying around the fields or the old sea cliffs. Ravens seem to be on move with five in a flock calling to each other as they flew northeast over the marsh. Good bird watching Pete.
