Not in a tube
1st July 2010, ThursdayIt was hard to resist trying to get some pictures of the superb Lejops vittatus on a head of Sea Club-rush, so early this morning a carefull search of 300 metres of ditch I found two individuals feeding on the pollen of the flowering heads. It was tricky to get close, the gentle warmth of the morning enabled the flies to be active but not highly charged and flighty like in the heat of the day.
