Sexton Beetle
A Sexton Beetle clinging for dear life to the top of a reed stem with wings unfolded made a strange sight, shortly after the picture was taken an attempt to take off resulted in a head dive back to the base of the stem. Sexton Beetles bury the bodies of small birds and mammals and lay their eggs on them, the larvae then feed on the decaying flesh.
