Not Much Happening at Pett

Sunday 23rd May 2010. Started off with a trip to Carters Flood, and stayed around two hours, birds of note were 2 Marsh Harriers at different times during my stay, one of each sex. There was a good sized mixed flock of  dabbling ducks, with Mallard, Shoveler, Gadwall and Shelducks, the only other bird of interest was a Little Egret which have not been so common since the cold weather in the winter at Pett. The male Bullfinch was in the same place, in the bushes at the begining of the footpath before you go onto the marsh, along side R.M.C. On the sea there were good numbers of  Terns fishing in the bay, and 15/20 Common Scoters flying around, about a mile out. All thats left to say for this week  is to send my sympathy to the Gooders family for the big loss of John, I never met a nicer man in my life. Pete.
