RSPB Dungeness sightings

18th October 2009, Sunday

The cattle egret and great white egret were on Denge Marsh all day, although they disappeared from view on several occasions. They were joined later by two glossy ibises. At least a dozen bearded tits were active in the reedbed below the Hooker’s pits viewpoint first thing and a bittern was also seen. A stone-curlew was found in the sheep field near Dengemarsh Road at about 4.30.
