RSPB Dungeness recent sightings

Three black-necked grebes were on New Diggings, the great white egret was still on Denge Marsh and the red-backed shrike remained near the return trail. There were sightings of single honey and common buzzards flying over. Waders included little ringed plover, dunlin, black-tailed godwit, greenshank and common sandpiper. A lone black tern was seen over Burrowes pit and a grasshopper warbler was seen near the Hooker’s pit viewpoint.

Beach Reserve

Highlights this morning included 235 Curlew, 4 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper and 211 Canada Geese on the pools behind Ternery Pool and at least 150 Yellow Wagtail were present along Shore Ridges.
