Castle Water
Avian highlights from Castle Water this morning included 19 Common Sandpiper, 14 Green Sandpiper, 6 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Ruff, Greenshank, 1300 Lapwing and a Peregrine. A good selection of crickets and grasshoppers can be found at the northern end of the main pit at the moment, Mottled and Lesser Marsh Grasshoppers are easy to find on the dry grassy slopes, Long-winged Conehead, Roesel’s and Dark Bush-cricket can be found in the lush margins.
