RSPB Dungeness sightings

At least seven garganey were seen at the ARC site along with four black-tailed godwits, two green sandpipers and a single wood sandpiper. A single lesser whitethroat was spotted in Christmas Dell and numerous willow warblers and chiffchaffs were seen around the nature trail.

Pett Pools

2nd August 09. In the past week the numbers of waders have been very much up and down, There was 28,Avocet on Friday with 3,Common Sand, 2,Green Sand, 15,Dunlin, 2, L.R.Plover and 1,Ring Plover, so when l arrived at the Pools l was hoping to see more of the same,and some increase in numbers, but it was not to be at first, but as the morning went on it slowly got better, with 8,Common Sand, 1,Curlew Sand, 15,Dunlin, 1, B.T.Godwit, 90, Curlew, 1,Ring Plover, 2, L.R.Plover , 4,Avocet and 4,Redshank, and a good sighting of a Peregrine calling flying east over the pools. On the sea nothing much doing yet!. Good bird watching Pete.
