Rye Harbour Moths
1st July 2009, WednesdayStill an overwhelming preponderance of Dark Arches and Heart and Dart in the moth trap at the moment, though the latter seem to be dropping off gradually. No real rarities this morning, though the trap did contain several Buff-tip (below), an amazing twig mimic, and Kent Black Arches (bottom, which always looks to me as though it has been fashioned from some soft fluffy substance such as talcum powder or cotton wool - I haven’t yet made my mind up which!).
