Large Skipper
19th June 2009, FridayOne of the highlights today was finding a small colony of Large Skipper at Castle Water at least 15 individuals were present. The butterflies were confiding while feeding on Black Horehound which allowed close views of their very long tongues unfolding, there is one generation a year of this species with numbers usually peaking around early July.
