Pett Level

Well done to the thirty five mad (or keen) people who came on the Friends of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve walk around Pett Level on Sunday. In addition to Greylag and Canada Geese, there were eighty plus White-fronted, two Brent and a single Bean Goose.

Beach Reserve

With a bitter easterly wind whipping across the Beach Reserve and a light covering of snow, many birds at first glance seemed to have vacated the area. But after a walk around Habour Farm and along the shore a few highlights were found, 330 Curlew and a Black-tailed Godwit were roosting around the pools near the barns, a Barn Owl and Marsh Harrier also showed well there. 35 Grey Plover,180 Dunlin and 49 Knot were present along the shore.
