Pett Level


Along the RM Canal this afternoon were 2 each of Green Sandpiper, Marsh Harrier, Little Egret and Stonechat.
Blackbirds and Song Thrushes were numerous in the reeds opposite the Pannel Valley and a Merlin chased Fieldfares through the skeleton trees.

Christmas shopping weekend
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December, 10 am - 4 pm
Why not escape the crowded High Street and do your Christmas shopping at the reserve? Our bird shop will be full of Christmas cards, calendars, gifts and a wide range of binoculars and telescopes. Entry to the visitor centre is free.

RSPB Dungeness recent sightings


Friday 28th November: A black-necked grebe and bittern were seen from Denge Marsh hide yesterday. A merlin was seen today and chiffchaff and goldcrest were around the trail.

Saturday 29th November: The black-necked grebe was still at Denge Marsh and four goosanders were on Burrowes pit. Bewick’s swans once again roosted on the ARC pit.

Sunday 30th November: Today’s highlights were provided by two goosanders on Burrowes pit, the black-necked grebe at Denge Marsh and goldcrest and chiffchaff in the car park bushes.

Monday, 1 December: A female smew was on the New Excavations today. Eighteen Bewick’s swans roosted on the ARC pit.
