Less visible migration today with only 130 goldfinch east and smaller numbers of meadow pipit and siskin. Grounded migrants reported included 16 redpoll, 3 wheatear, 11 stonechat, 2 reed bunting, 9 yellow wagtail and 2 tree pipit. Two common buzzard were seen hunting along field margins and hedgerows.

3 Little Stints, 1 Curlew Sandpiper, m Marsh Harrier today. And a Bearded Tit which seemed to arrive along the sea wall from the west.
After a two week absence it looks as though our cranes have returned - two birds landed at the ARC site at 15.45. Also seen today: yellow wagtail, swallow and siskin. Regular sightings over the past week have included little stint, snipe, golden plover, common sandpiper, ruff, kingfisher, wheatear and yellow wagtail. A common buzzard was seen on 27th and a bittern (from Christmas Dell hide) on 28th.
