At 1.10 p.m. today a Honey Buzzard flew slowly eastwards low over Rye Hill and headed out east over the marsh. It looked like a light-phase adult male. We had good views from our garden in North Salts.

A huge flock of 350 Canada Geese (pictured) and 120 Greylag provided a wildlife spectacle early this morning as they left their overnight roost sites on the reserve and headed off over the Beach Reserve. Other highlights this morning included 3 Grey wagtail and 35 Siskin overhead, 2 Jay were unusual visitors to Harbour Farm and Long Pit, a Merlin was present along Shore Ridges and at least 50 Meadow Pipit were around the Wader Pool.
