Low water at Pett Pools

The roadside pool will be worth watching, since water levels have been reduced and mud exposed. Exploiting the vulnerability of prey items caught in the shallows this morning were 11 Little Egrets. 8 remained in the afternoon, when they were joined by 3 Avocets. Hundreds of Sand Martins were passing through and several Mediterranean Gulls were in circulation.

High Tide at Rye Harbour

The geometrical crazing of dried mud is softened and the salt-resistant leaves of Sea Purslane irrigated as the flood tide fills the basin below the village.

Rye Harbour

Highlights today, 7 Green Sandpiper, 2 Little Ringed Plover and 30 Sand Martin at Castle Water, at Ternery Pool  Little Tern and a Ruff.
