24th May 2008, SaturdayA dawn visit to the viewpoint at Castle water found, 20 Little Egret leaving the roost, 2 Hobby hawking insects over the reeds, a Barn Owl gave fantastic views in flight over the viewpoint and a Marsh Harrier was hunting along the nearby ditches. Bearded Tit, Water Rail, and Cettis warbler were heard, Turtle Dove and Lesser Whitethroat gave good views. On the Beach Reserve 5 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Little Ringed Plover and 22 Avocet were the pick of the bunch from the new pools behind Ternery pool.
