Pond Dipping
An excellent morning was spent with a party of school children from Northiam, pond dipping at Castle Water yesterday. A good selection of aquatic creatures were caught, dragonfly larvae attracted the most attention with an impressive four 4-Spotted Chaser final instar larvae (pictured) and a huge Emperor larva. An impressive selection of drawings were made by the children before visiting Castle Water hide for some bird watching, where a sitting Oystercatcher and a newly hatched brood of Greylag goslings showed well.
