The exmoor ponies were moved yesterday to the field between Brakey Bank and Warren Wood (just west of Warren Cottage), so if you are visiting Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve to see the ponies that is where to look. Also up to eight raven have been seen in recent days, but very few passerine migrants.
Highlights this morning, 53 Golden Plover, 4 Whimbrel and 19 Knot were on Flat Beach/Quarry, 26 Avocet and a Little Ringed Plover were on the new pools on Harbour Farm. Good numbers of Sandwich Tern and a few Common Tern were at Ternery Pool. Waders roosting along Shore Ridges included 9 Grey Plover and at least 100 Sanderling. Yesterday at Castle Water 4 Garganey were on the new excavations.
