In the rock pools under the cliffs at Pett Level and on the concrete sea defences at Rye Harbour you can find the reddish blobs of jelly that are sea anemones.  At the Information Centre at Rye Harbour we now have a small marine aquarium which makes watching these and other marine animals much easier. On Long Pit, two Long-tailed Duck visible from the western end of the pit, two male Goldeneye and 24 Little Egret. On the Beach Reserve, around 400 Golden Plover were present on the new pits adjacent to Lime Kiln Cottage, while 140 Curlew were present on the shore early morning, and several Snipe (below) were on Wader Pool giving good views from the hide.
