Co-ordinated harrier counts last Sunday

Numbers of hen harrier present in the area had increased to 5 birds last weekend, three of which were males. This is an increase on last month, but well down on the numbers that were present 2-3 years ago. Only 10 birds were recorded across the whole of Kent.

15 marsh harrier were counted. Unfortunately not all of the roost sites could be checked, so these figures may be under-estimates. A further count is planned this weekend.
