Lesser Periwinkle
Today in a sheltered and unkempt spot by Playden Church, a clump of Lesser Periwinkle was in full, fresh flower. My book (Fitter & Blamey) says February to May. In this mild winter, perhaps many other flowers are out early - or late?
CORRECTION: now re-identified as a garden variety of Periwinkle, possibly Vinca difformis which regularly flowers in late autumn and early winter.
