John Trowell was, at 11.45, watching a Little Auk just offshore from Pett Pools… but now at 11.50 he reports that it has flown off west.

Northerly winds and bright winter sunshine is the best time to check for Long-eared Owls at the southern end of Castle water. One bird gave good views yesterday afternoon as it enjoyed the warmth of the sunshine. A Little Owl also showed well perched on fence posts along the nearby footpath. As dusk set in, the rough grassland at the northern end of the main pit attracted Short-eared Owl and Barn Owl.
