Rye Harbour Sightings
Two immature Ruff were on the new pits behind Ternery Pool along with Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Dunlin and Ringed Plover. On Flat Beach Level a flock of 29 Golden Plover were roosting near the footpath, while also present here were one or two Wheatear and a roving flock of about 15 Yellow Wagtail. At Castle Water, five Green Sandpiper, three Common Sandpiper and four Curlew were visible from the hide, while from the viewpoint two Kingfisher and seven Little Egret were seen mid-morning. Highlight on the Long Pit were a pair of Red-crested Pochard visible from the path to the Wood.
