Longhorn Beetle
28th June 2007, ThursdayI think the longhorn beetle in the picture below could be Strangalia maculata, the black and yellow markings are very variable and range from completely yellow to almost completely black. In Britain this is one of the commonest longhorn beetles, and from May to August the adults can be found on flowers feeding on pollen. The larvae develope in decaying tree stumps of various deciduous trees.
