Rye Harbour Sightings

On the Beach Reserve the female Eider was still present at the river mouth mid-morning, 28 Corn Bunting flew over Lime Kiln Cottage and both Rock Pipit and Stonechat were also seen here. At Castle Water two Smew (one drake) were visible from the hide.

News from RSPB Dungeness

A red-throated diver was seen on Denge Marsh. 

Smew (a peak of four males and nine red heads) and goosander (five females) were again spotted at Scott hide. 

Goldeneye and a glaucous gull were seen from the visitor centre. Raptor wise, marsh harrier and merlin were recorded. 

Resurfacing of the track has started and the reserve and visitor centre are open as usual today.
