RXwildlife Sightings

From the viepoint mid-morning an immature male Marsh Harrier and Kingfisher were seen, while at least two Cetti’s Warbler were singing in the reedbed. Good numbers of birds on Ternery Pool included 50 Shoveler, 47 Teal, 16 Gadwall and a Snipe. There were two Long-eared Owl at the Narrow Pit roost and the regular Little Owl sunbathing at the castle (below).

A check of the Little Egret roost at dawn found 53 birds leaving the roost, 71 Mute swan also took off from the main pit were they roosted overnight. Other highlights included 3 Smew inflight (1 drake) and a Barn Owl.
