Long shadows thrown by low winter sunshine show up old river banks and seawalls. I’m not sure which, if any, are documented or dated.
John Willsher phoned to say that 9 Woodlarks were once again on a birdfood field at Hog Hill, but by the time we’d marched over there they had gone. However on the way, we crossed paths with a m Hen Harrier, looking a fabulous silver against the golden reedbeds. It spent some time patrolling another birdseed plot, tempted by tasty Tree Sparrows.
