A few birds moved west offshore during the morning including 97 Gannets, eight Red-breasted Mergansers, four Little Gulls, 40 Kittiwakes and 140 auks sp. A Black-throated Diver also flew east.

Birds reported today include a red kite over the coastguard station, a hawfinch in fairlight glen, a merlin around the farm, 3 woodlark, and 3 snow bunting.
Also 2 raven have been present in the area over the last few days, mostly seen on the farm or flying along the cliffs.
A roosting Long-eared Owl gave reasonable views in the Hawthorn trees at the southern end of Castle Water, a redhead Smew was fishing nearby. Two Scaup, Kingfisher and Water Rail gave good views from the hide.
