Sanderling

The numbers of Sanderling along the shore are increasing, with 80 seen today at Rye Harbour. This is one of the birds listed in the new SSSI desgination. It takes only 210 birds to reach the 1% figure for Britain, perhaps tomorrow’s Wetland Bird Survey will reach this figure… main sites are Lade and Camber Sands.

News from RSPB Dungeness

Two black-necked grebes were spotted on the New Diggings and  seven Bewick’s swans were visible form ARC hide.
A goldeneye was  reported and a kingfisher spent most of the morning on Burrowes pit and was visible from firth, Makepeace and Scott hide.
