News from RSPB Dungeness

Today’s sightings included: black-tailed godwit, turnstone, ruff and black-necked grebe at the ARC pits. 

Whinchat, stonechat and goldfinches were also spotted on the reserve. 

A marsh harrier was busy hunting at Denge marsh for a good part of the morning.

Castle Water

Highlights from Castle Water this afternoon included, 300+ Wigeon, Curlew Sandpiper, 2 Little Stint, 3 Green Sandpiper and a Grey Wagtail (pictured). The Buff-breasted Sandpiper was present on Flat Beach untill 8.45am, and has not been reported since.
