The Variable Cormorant

No, not a new species, but just an observation on the great variation in the plumage of breeding Cormorants at Castle Water. The majority of these birds are the sinensis or continental sub-species.

Rye Harbour Nature Reserve

Dunlin numbers feeding at low water have increased over the past few days, 520 were present this morning. The Slavonian Grebe and 5 Goldeneye are still present on Long Pit. And a Barn Owl gave good views flying around Wader Pool.
