Pete Rouse was out on the seawall - well wrapped-up - this morning and reported:
on the sea, 40 Eider incl 2 ad drakes and 15 Velvet Scoter .
On the marsh he saw 300 Curlew, 112 Golden Plover, 10 Ruff, 84 Greylags, 65 Canadas, 3 Brents, 2 Whitefronts.
A good selection of birds this morning, mostly near the hide. A Black-necked Grebe, a drake Scaup, a drake and redhead Smew, a female Goldeneye, the female Marsh Harrier with left primary feather missing, a Merlin, a Black-tailed Godwit and a good flight view of a Bittern, but no sign of the Long-eared Owls.
