From the viewpoint at dusk , a Bittern was present, flying in to roost from the north east, as were 21 Little Egret and over 100 Stock Dove. Other notable birds included a ringtail Hen Harrier, two Cetti’s Warbler, Kingfisher and Water Rail.

The red-crested pochards (one female, two males), female goosander and Slavonian grebe are still with us as are a few smew. A bittern was seen at Christmas Dell again yesterday and a kingfisher was spotted from the Visitor Centre.
