Rye Harbour Sightings

A guided walk around the reserve yesterday (1st) found one Short-eared Owl roosting on Harbour Farm and a Long-eared Owl roosting on the Narrow Pit, while a Barn Owl was seen hunting near Watch Cottage.
On Long Pit, the Slavonian Grebe was still present, as were a pair of Goldeneye.

Today’s sightings

Four red-headed smew and a female goosander were seen on Burrowes pit. A Slavonian grebe has been present for several days on New Excavations.
