Scarce Merveille du Jour

I photographed this moth today in Peasmarsh and believe it to be a Scarce Merveille du Jour. It is a listed rare moth.

Roseate Tern

First of the rare Roseate Terns appeared today among the nesting Common Terns at Ternery Pool, visible from Crittall Hide. They usually hang around for a while and are most reliable at high tide, perhaps they are thinking of settling down one day!

Clustered Clover

The cool and wet summer has made the flowering season of our clovers longer than usual. The wide range of soils at Rye Harbour suits many species of clover. One of the rarest is Clustered Clover, but a recent survey has found it far more extensive here than we thought.
