Dungeness migrant birds

A handful of migrants included singles of Redstart, Whinchat and Spotted Flycatcher, three Garden Warblers and ten Willow Warblers and at least two Jays. Migrants overhead included 114 Swifts, ten House Martins and two Siskins.
There was little to be seen offshore although observations were very limited.
There was no sign of yesterdays Short-toed Treecreeper but the Gull-billed Tern continues to give superb views on either ARC or New Diggings.

New ladybird

I found this ladybird at Snaylham Farm near Icklesham yesterday. I have checked it with Peter Hodge and he believes it may be a Harlequin ladybird. A new sighting for East Sussex.

Sedlescombe

A very wet day with cold showers and rainbows. Everything getting very lush and overblown. Six slow-worms under the roofing felt and a couple of hoverflies - Helophilus pendulus and Leucozona lucorum, known respectively as the brindled hoverfly and the dainty bee hoverfly.
