Whimbrel Roost This Morning
A total of 235 Whimbrel were seen leaving the roost on the Quarry this morning, as well as six Bar-tailed Godwit. Also present here and on Ternery Pool were roughly 80 Common Tern and 200 Sandwich Tern, with five Little Tern over the shore.
Despite the poor weather the Lime Kiln Cottage Moth Trap contained a number of species including Oblique Striped, Reed Dagger, Lunar Thorn, Lime-speck Pug, Chinese Character (pictured below) and Hebrew Character.
