Rye Harbour this morning

The first four Common Terns were flying over the Beach Reserve, while there were two Avocet on Flat Beach, two Bar-tailed Godwit on the Wader Pool and a pair of Scaup on Ternery Pool

The moth trap at Lime Kiln Cottage had its best night yet, attracting over 50 fifty individuals of six species. The commonest species were Common Quaker and Small Quaker, with smaller numbers of Clouded Drab and Hebrew Character and singletons of Early Grey and Grey Shoulder Knot.

BND off Hastings

At 10.40 a Bottle nosed dolphin was feeding close inshore just West of Hastings pier, probably the same animal that was seen off Galley hill on 29th Mar.

warren glen

Sightings in Warren glen this morning were a singing blackcap at last, 4 Chiffchaffs, a brief snippet of song was heard from a Dartford warbler, other than that very little was seen, only 6 linnets and 4 goldfinches.
A Common lizard was found basking in the braken.

Pett Level

The Pink footed Goose was spotted asleep among the Greylag Geese at the eastern end of the pools. No obvious migrants but a flock of at least 70 Turnstone were feeding behind the pools.

Pannel Valley

The first three Common Terns are back on the scrape this morning. There were also two Ruff present.
