Recent highlights

2 Bittern and 18 Little Egret at the Bittern Viewpoint this morning
5 Pintail at the Wader Pool, flying off over Flat Beach
1 Red Throated Diver flew past Lime Kiln this afternoon

Recent highlights have included regular Merlin at Harbour Farm, along with the smaller Corn Bunting flock of only 60+. Short Eared Owl also sighted at Harbour Farm.
Drake Smew at Castle Water with 21 Scaup.

Lapwings and Ringed Plovers now displaying on the Beach Reserve.

Canada Goose hybrid

I was interested to see Cliff Dean’s image of a hybrid Canada Goose X Greylag Goose? at Pett Level on 26th February. I also saw and photographed this bird at Scotney Pit on 12th January 2005.
