Dungeness area
26th February 2005, SaturdayA day of unusual birds with a Shore Lark coming in off the sea at about 0845hrs and a Lapland Bunting east over the Observatory later in the morning. A Dartford Warbler was also seen in the Desert, a Firecrest was seen in the moat and there were 11 Long-tailed Tits at the Long Pits.
There was also another easterly movement of birds at sea during the first two hours of daylight with 102 Red-throated Divers, 252 Gannets, 58 Brent Geese, 12 Wigeon, two Scaup and 650 auks and there were four adult Mediterranean Gulls at the Patch.
The Lesser Scaup was still at Scotney
